Business has changed dramatically over the years, and the Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network has served entrepreneurs throughout. To celebrate the success and impact that SBDCs foster each year, the network will take part in SBDC Day on Wednesday, March 22.
SBDC Day is a national movement created by America’s SBDC, the association representing America’s nationwide network of SBDCs – the most comprehensive small business assistance network in the country and its territories. SBDC Day is a national, collective celebration of the small business success stories and notable impact SBDCs foster nationwide.
As part of SBDC Day and the 13th Annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business Awards Gala, the Michigan SBDC is proud to announce twelve companies who have received the Michigan Small Business Development Center’s Best Small Business Award. The companies were chosen from over 5,500 small businesses that the Michigan SBDC provided with confidential counseling in 2016, and were identified based on their success in creating jobs, increasing sales, improving their business strategy and their involvement with the Michigan SBDC. The recipients will be honored during National Small Business Week on May 4, at the Michigan Celebrates Small Business Awards Gala, held in Lansing.
“This year’s awardees have a significant impact on Michigan’s economy and truly represent the success achieved through a strong SBDC consultant and client partnership,” says Keith Brophy, State Director of the Michigan SBDC. “We are excited to take the opportunity to celebrate their success and cheer them on as they continue growing their businesses.”
The twelve Best Small Business awardees were selected based on their growth and relationship with the Michigan SBDC. Awardees include:
- Piper & Gold Public Relations (Lansing),
- Sandlot Sports (Saginaw),
