GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (July 22) — Local business leader Hollie Blagg has been named Associate State Director of the Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC), located in the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University.

Blagg began her new role on July 22, joining the executive team of the SBDC, a statewide organization that serves more than 5,500 small businesses annually, offering one-on-one consulting, business training and market research.

Blagg brings 20 years of experience in a variety of leadership roles, most recently leading Hybrid IT and Cloud Strategies for principal, architectural, and delivery consulting services at OST. She also brings first-hand experience in small business ownership.

“As a small business owner who is surviving the current COVID-19 crisis, I’m excited to bring a unique perspective of the small business community’s needs during such a critical time,” said Blagg. “Coupled with my leadership experience, my hope is to foster innovation and development within the SBDC, and entrepreneurship and innovation within our communities.”

J.D. Collins, State Director of the Michigan SBDC, is eager to welcome Blagg’s leadership to the SBDC team. “COVID-19 has pushed many small businesses to innovate and pivot, as are we at the SBDC,” Collins commented. “Hollie’s background in operational leadership and her passion for our mission are huge assets as we continue to provide critical resources helping small businesses reopen and recover.”
