Small Business Spotlight – Cinnamom

January 6, 2020 - 1 minute read

For over 40 years Rebecca Nagy has been baking homemade cinnamon rolls using a special family recipe. She used the tradition to share her family’s delicious treats with the world by starting her own business, Cinnamom. Offering gourmet cinnamon rolls with over 50 choices in toppings, Cinnamom bakery has a shop in Grand Blanc, Michigan and ships orders anywhere in the United States!

Cinnamom’s success caught the attention of QVC, and Rebecca was excited to use the opportunity to grow her business. She reached out to the Michigan SBDC for expert assistance in preparation for the next steps. Michigan SBDC Consultant Harry Blecker was able to guide Rebecca in gaining capital, equipment, and reworking her business plan to fit the needs of future growth.

“I appreciate Michigan SBDC Consultant Harry Blecker for pointing me in the right direction to gain the support and knowledge needed to successfully make this business transition,” said Rebecca, “Sending out hundreds of QVC orders in one day presented a lot of challenges and pre-planning. We learned so much in the process and are looking forward to continued growth in shipping.”

Cinnamom was featured on QVC on November 4th, 2019, launching a new product CinnaSwirls on air. With Harry’s help the company is fully prepared for growth and has hired additional employees to keep up with demand. Cinnamom’s successful business model stems from the same ingredients baked into their cinnamon rolls; creativity and TLC.
